The tool this page covers is JSONTS, a JSON to TypeScript converter. Put simply, it turns a JSON sample into TypeScript interfaces and types, handling nested objects, unions and optional fields, and the way it does so is this: it infers a type for every value in the sample, widens arrays whose elements differ into a union, and marks a field optional when it is absent from some objects in an array — so the generated types reflect the sample rather than a hand-written guess. Everything stated here applies to that tool and the values it handles, and to nothing else.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from the JSON sample you paste, and it is usually opened for things like typing an API response before writing the client. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

General information only

The content on jsonts.com exists to inform and educate. Every result is an estimate derived from your input, not a measurement or a piece of professional advice — and JSONTS makes no claim beyond that.

Developer tool output

What a developer tool emits is a draft, not a finished artefact. Review anything JSONTS generates — a type, a reformatted document, a converted value — against your own requirements before it goes anywhere near production.

Provided without warranty

For JSONTS specifically, the operative assumption is that your input fits the case the tool is built for. It infers a type for every value in the sample, widens arrays whose elements differ into a union, and marks a field optional when it is absent from some objects in an array — so the generated types reflect the sample rather than a hand-written guess. Outside that — and wherever rounding, unit handling or browser behavior intrudes — the Site offers no warranty of any kind; we take care over the method, but the result is what it is.

Third-party links

Where we link to an outside source it is for reference. We do not control that content and are not responsible for its accuracy.

Adverts and sponsorship

The Site is funded by advertising. No advertiser has any say over a result, and no ad should be read as an endorsement.

Your responsibility

Make sure any result suits your own situation before you act on it. If you think something is wrong, the contact page is the quickest way to let us know.
